Our August meeting started an hour earlier than usual, but it was a full house nonetheless as we welcomed our presenters, Director Brandon Dermer and Colorist Ryan McNeal and thanked Blackmagic Design for connecting us with the talented filmmakers. Together Dermer and McNeal discussed their relationship as director and colorist on the film, “I’m Totally Fine” as well as how Blackmagic Design’s DaVinci Resolve was leveraged to create the exact look that they were after. There were great questions on the color process and Brandon wow’d us as we learned about his journey to direct this first feature film, currently streaming on HULU. We also announced the wonderful addition of our newest Silver Level Partner, Avid and reminded people to check our blog for our latest installment where we highlighted LAPPG member director and writer Dedi Felman who shared the value of LAPPG for non post people as well. We also had 2 licenses of DaVinci Resolve for giveaway and as always we want to thank Blackmagic for their generosity!
