It was a special night having two of the only Blackmagic Cinema Cameras in all of North America at our meeting!
The evening started off with an introduction from Neil Smith, Managing Director of Hollywood DI who spoke about Apple’s Retina Display MacBook Pro and Thunderbolt storage and as we all ooohed and aaahed colorist Andrew Balis took the floor and brought us up to speed with all the latest features of DaVinci Resolve 9. Jeff Stansfield of Advantage Video Systems was there along with Wilma Wong of the Apple Store at the Grove as resources for the group.
Then our friends from Blackmagic came to share their latest products like their Hyperdeck Shuttle and Teranex 2D and 3D processors. Kendall Eckman presented along with Mark Thompson and together they answered our questions but the icing on the cake really came at the end of the evening when we got an up close and personal hands-on look at two of the new Blackmagic Cinema Cameras. Not even shipping yet, Blackmagic surprised us by sending the only two in all of North America. Boy were we honored! And to top the night off we raffled off over $3500 worth of prizes including Davinci Resolve 9. A hugh thank you to Hollywood DI & Blackmagic Design for making this one awesome evening!
