A HUGE thank you to the team at Avid for making our September 2024 meeting such a success! Our members were certainly jazzed about this evening specially designed for us at Avid’s Burbank offices and studios. The evening started with an sensational hot buffet where attendees networked with one another and chatted with some of the associates from Avid. Then we went into a presentation room where LAPPG Co-Founders Wendy and Woody Woodhall welcomed everyone and made some short announcements. They also introduced some team members from Synology, LAPPG’s newest silver level partner, who were in town visiting. Next, Christopher Mallamaci was introduced and he presented “Getting Started with Immersive Audio in Pro Tools: An Introduction to the Internal Dolby Atmos Renderer.” Christopher also mentioned the tighter integration between Pro Tools and Media Composer which our members seemed enthusiastic about. Christopher also answered members’ questions and then following the presentation we held one of our awesome giveaways with prizes from Avid, Boris FX, Blackmagic Design, Synology and iZotope by Native Instruments. A big thank you to all of these partners for supplying us with wonderful prizes. And lastly as we continued our networking and conversations, Christopher called groups of 5 into their in-house Dolby Atmos studio enabled for a listening session. By the end of the evening everyone left feeling incredibly satisfied and connected with their bellies fed, their brains stimulated, and their spirits energized.
