Wellbeing in
Post-Production and Freelance Work

As we have seen in recent years, entertainment industry workers are not immune to challenging times and struggles. Whether it’s trying to recover from last year’s strikes, dealing with the uncertainty of finding the next gig, feeling isolated while working from home, having concerns over being replaced by technology, or just struggling to make ends meet, many are having a difficult time.

February’s LAPPG meeting will be dedicated to offering space to allow an honest discussion as we work to normalize these experiences. Leading us on this journey will be our friends from WECA (Wellbeing Entertainment and Creative Arts), Shaina Fawn (Mental Health Clinician, WECA Co-Founder) and Ari Simon (Founder, Grief at Work, WECA Board Member).

In this online presentation, you will learn about the current research on the wellbeing of workers in the entertainment industry, hear specifically about threats to wellbeing that exist for post-production and freelance workers, learn about current practices being used to support wellbeing and engage in an experiential practice designed to give you tools you can use immediately to enhance your own psychological safety.

Shaina Fawn, LCSW – Mental Health Clinician, WECA Co-Founder

Shaina Fawn is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and co-founder of Wellbeing in Entertainment and Creative Arts, a non-profit organization founded in 2021 with the goal of bringing trauma-informed principles and practices to the entertainment industry. She has experience providing leadership, training, and consultation regarding Trauma-Informed Care and Integrated Behavioral Health and is passionate about bridging the gap in services that currently exist in the entertainment industry.
