2024 started off with a bang as we presented our first panel of the year, VFX: 2024 & Beyond. The panel was moderated by VFX Executive Craig German and included VP of Visual Effects at Skydance, Film & TV Aliyah Lopez, VFX Supervisor Marcus LeVere, and VFX Editor and Assistant Editor Richard Sanchez. Together they tackled issues such as the long-tail effect of the strikes, VFX business model instabilities, the impact of AI on VFX jobs and career mobility in VFX. Members had time to have some of their questions answered and although there are many challenges facing the industry and its workers, we left the discussion feeling better informed and having a sense of excitement and optimism about the road that may lay ahead.
