It was a true treat having first time director Matthew Gentile and editor Matt Allen come and share with us how they were successfully able to use previs on an indie budget for their soon to be released film, “American Murderer.” Our members were inspired hearing how Matt Allen used his time during the pandemic to learn Shot Pro which allowed him through previs to plan out many of the scenes in the film and then show them to producers and investors. His hard work helped get him hired on this theatrically released indie and it allowed director Matthew Gentile to collaborate with Matt on the preliminary vision of this film. It was great to see that previs can be used not just on Marvel type movies. We wish Matthew and Matt the best of luck as their film will be released theatrically October 21, 2022 and digitally October 28, 2022. We also had fun with a horror film trivia quiz including questions like what colors was Freddy Krueger’s sweater and which celebrity’s face was Michael Myer’s mask based off of in “Halloween”.
