March 2020 Photos

Our March 2020 meeting was filled with lots of information and insights on a variety of topics for filmmakers. The evening began with Other World Computing‘s Director of Business Development Richard Wright and digital imagining technician Dane Brehm introducing us to some of the the latest products. Dane spoke about the motivation behind the development of the OWC Mercury Helios 3S and showed us the Thunderbolt 3 Pro Dock and USB-C Travel Dock with 5 essential ports to charge, connect and import while on the go. After the networking break we had Director Jon Kean and Editor Anne Stein come and share their experiences working together on biographical documentaries over the past 17 years. They spoke about their collaborative process, how they worked to craft the stories of 6 female Holocaust survivors through the films “Swimming in Auschwitz” and “After Auschwitz“. Jon also spoke about getting the films out into the world and having them seen and how it took 3 or 4 versions before they settled on the structure for their last feature doc, “After Auschwitz” to build around themes for each survivor.  Anne spoke about working in Adobe Premiere Pro as well as the intense high-level sound work that was done by Woody Woodhall, CAS.
