On his trip out to the West Coast, Derick Rhodes, Vimeo’s VP, Creator Programs will be stopping by LAPPG and filling us in on what’s new at Vimeo, the world’s leading professional video platform. From the exciting addition of their new “For Hire” jobs marketplace to the recent updates to their workflow tools (including review pages) we’ll discover how to make the most of the amazing resources Vimeo has to offer.




Blackmagic Design’s Mary Plummer will demo the innovative Cut page, and the powerful new Fairlight tools now available in DaVinci Resolve 16 as well as the some of the exciting new features emerging in the latest DaVinci Resolve 16.1 public beta. First, Mary will start with the Cut page with specialized workflows for fast turnaround projects. You’ll see how the new page lets you move quickly through an edit with a range of new tools. She will also show the new editing Keyboard, designed for professional editors who look for faster ways to edit without using a mouse. Then Mary will show some of the powerful new Fairlight tools including bus tracks, automation preview, the Foley Sampler plugin and immersive 3D audio tools.

Mary Plummer is part of the Blackmagic Design marketing and curriculum development team, as well as a Fairlight audio post production specialist. She is a professional video editor, audio artist and composer with over 25 years experience in video and film production. She has worked on a wide range of productions from coast to coast including shorts, PSAs, trailers, music videos, documentary and independent feature films. Between projects, Mary has been a trainer and presenter at major industry trade shows and written over a dozen industry training books including: Introduction to Fairlight Audio Post in DaVinci Resolve 15.
