We gathered in Roth Hall for our November meeting where we were excited to finally have Maxim Jago present! He shared a profound and inspiring presentation called “The Editor’s Kata” and many, many of our members found these simple principles harnessed by the best editors to be extremely helpful and enlightening. Then we had a celebration of Fall during our networking break with pumpkin pie for all! We concluded the evening with a fascinating tag team presentation about the documentary workflow for the Critics’ Choice nominated film, “11-8-16” which chronicled the entire election day through 16 people/groups spread out across the country. David Sommer, post production supervisor, broke down the workflow as he share the details of how all the footage was received, managed and outputted. We then got a closer look from Woody Woodhall, CAS at the post production audio challenges and how a stunning soundscape was created with little music and tons of different sourced audio. Lastly, we had our amazing giveaway and we all left having enjoyed a wonderful celebration of Fall.
