Join us for our upcoming November 8 meeting:
The Editor’s Kata
Straight from a well-received presentation at Adobe MAX in Las Vegas, we are lucky to have Maxim Jago join us to share this exciting presentation with our group!
In martial arts, a Kata is a series of connected movements that allow the techniques of the art to be practiced. In this session, Maxim will present a series of profoundly simple principles that the best editors are guided by, from approaches to organization to interpersonal skills. Based on 15 years of training and working with editors in many countries, this is a succinct set of ideas that editors will find stimulating and helpful in their work.
As time allows, he will also share an overview of media formats: SD 2D to full volumetric video – what does it all mean? An overview of new production approaches and delivery mediums. In his experience, creatives sometimes struggle to get clear concise information about new visual mediums, and the opportunities and challenges they represent. In this overview, he’ll fill in some blanks.
Maxim Jago is a filmmaker, futurist, and author of the official Adobe Premiere Pro Classroom in a Book. As an Adobe Master Trainer, Avid Certified Instructor, and the creator of the EDIUS core training program, Maxim has recording over 1,800 tutorials on post-production, including official videos for Adobe, Avid, and Grass Valley.
