Our June 13th meeting marked a milestone for the LAPPG as we celebrated our 4th anniversary. We were lucky enough to have Taz Goldstein of Hand Held Hollywood return to bring us the very latest and greatest apps & accessories for iPad and iPhone owning media makers. As usual, Taz delivered a packed presentation that left our audience with lists of really cool tools to checkout. What’s so great about Taz is not only the incredible about of research and knowledge he has on the subject but also the way he delivers it as a true filmmaker with experience and humor which makes his presentations entertaining as well as informative. Be on the look out for his forthcoming Peachpit Press book due out in the Fall.

Then we had a rare opportunity to ask a ton of questions to one of Hollywood’s busiest Transactional Entertainment Attorney’s, Hillary Bibicoff, from Greenberg Glusker Fields Claman & Michtinger LLP. She offered insight and pointers on how to avoid legal pitfalls when developing and producing content, including option and attachment agreements, rights issues as well as key terms to know. She came armed with an incredibly detailed document for each attendee which spelled out so many of the legal considerations one needs to be aware of when producing and creating content. Members supplied Hillary with very thoughtful and astute questions which lead the discussion in a free-flowing interactive manner which made this a particularly valuable evening for us all.
