Triage in the Editing Room
John Rosenberg, film editor, post production producer and author of The Healthy Edit (Focal Press, 2011) will present “Triage in the Editing Room,” an examination of emergency procedures for curing story, character, structure and pacing problems in the editing room.
John has edited over two dozen feature films and has edited documentaries and reality-based television shows for HBO, PBS, Showtime, Nat Geo among many others. His feature work has spanned most genres, including the Jack Nicholson comedy Man Trouble, the cult thrillers Poison Ivy 3 with Jaime Pressly and Body Count with Alyssa Milano, and the Christmas classic, Prancer.
John was head of post production for Live Entertainment (now Artisan/Lions Gate) and produced the TV pilot The Blue Light with Ernest Borgnine for Keenan Films. As an educator he teaches a wide range of editing classes at UCLA including “Fix It in Post” and “Editing the Genre Film.” He also teaches production, post production and an extensive variety of editing workshops at the Art Institute of California. Besides his extensive writing experience for documentaries and reality TV, his short stories have appeared in numerous literary journals and he recently won the award for Most Outstanding Fiction at the Southern California Writers Conference for his novel Tincture of Time.
