A special summer meeting:
Working in Hollywood: A Cinematographers’ Panel
Join the LAPPG as we delve this month into the world of production with a panel of independent Directors of Photography and explore what it means to be a working DP in Hollywood. We will begin the evening with a favorite scene from each panelist which they will break down for us including the equipment used, lighting techniques, and challenges faced to “get the shot.” Then we will discuss the best practices for collaboration with Directors and what aspiring Directors should know as well as what DP’s can do to make this relationship creative and successful. We will also discuss how these DP’s shoot with or without the editor in mind and what lessons they’ve learned from working with colorists and post teams to deliver the Director’s vision.
